In the Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai Province, Northern Thailand, the Elephant Nature Park serves as a rescue center and sanctuary dedicated solely to elephants.
Recently, a visitor at the park decided to have a close encounter with these majestic creatures. Standing directly beneath one of the elephants, the visitor attracted the elephant’s attention, which seemed to invite nearby companions to join.

Responding to the call, three other elephants trotted over to meet the person standing under their friend.
Despite their enormous size, the elephants were remarkably gentle, ensuring they did not harm the visitor. They navigated carefully, avoiding stepping on the person.
The elephants communicated with each other and even tried to play with the visitor using their trunks. The visitor responded by gently patting the elephant on its trunk.
Notably, all the elephants at the park are without their tusks, likely due to past encounters with poachers. Despite this, they now enjoy a safe and comfortable life at the sanctuary.
