Georgia Sheepdog lives at the Sunshine Dog Rescue Center in the US, which provides assistance to stray dogs. Animal rights activists found the dog at a gas station near the Mexican border.
In the center, it turned out that the animal was in a position, but, unfortunately, her babies were born ahead of schedule, and they did not manage to survive. This was the strongest psychological blow for Georgia.
Anita Os, founder of Sunshine Dog Rescue, said she has never seen a pregnant dog that has lost all her puppies at once. The condition of the animal was extremely sad. Georgia was always looking for her cubs and, out of anxiety, tore the mattress on which she was lying to shreds.
Seeing the suffering of their ward, the center’s volunteers posted an ad on social networks looking for abandoned puppies that Georgia could shelter and feed. No one responded to the post, but after some time a woman who had kittens left without a mother cat contacted the employees.
Anita was skeptical at first, as she was not sure that the shepherd would accept the kittens, but nevertheless decided to try to help both the dog and the orphans. One by one, the woman placed the kittens near the suffering Georgia, who sniffed them and then began to lick them. The kids also reached out to the big dog. Now they were not in danger of starvation.
So Georgia found what she really needed – a family and the opportunity to take care of the cubs. Anita is happy that the tiny kittens helped the dog heal his emotional wounds and return to normal life.
