A pitbull was found in Guatemala in a terrible state of health, the boy had completely diseased skin, full of sores and parasites . Also, he was malnourished. He really didn’t seem to have a chance to survive, his former owners abandoned him… How can there be such heartless people in the world!

Fortunately, a woman named Corey Quann arrived, the person who found and saved him. She decided to call him Niko and see that he was okay. She is dedicated to animal rescue in Guatemala, and despite being used to seeing animals in poor condition, she assured that she had never seen a case like this. 

From the long period of time he spent on the streets wandering alone, his skin was infested with parasites and diseases . He is a victim of abandonment who had to endure the hot climate of the region, which caused him chronic burns and made the whole situation worse.

When Corey saw him he was lying on the pavement, he couldn’t even move. 

She wasn’t even sure it was a dog, that’s how terrible his physical condition was. 

Fortunately, she was immediately willing to save him and give him the life he deserves. 

“…It was clear that he wanted to live, that he had not given up. We decided he deserved a chance, so the slow process of helping him began,” Corey said. 

After receiving the treatment he needed to get rid of parasites and cure diseases, as well as a good diet, this boy who was about to die managed to catch his breath and get up. 

But the most important thing she received, and what she needed the most, is the love that was finally given to her. 

Three years passed until Niko was completely cured and no longer suffered from pain. 

Despite everything he went through, this noble boy continues to believe in humans.
