A courageous husky finds a box of abandoned kittens and takes them all in.

The dogs are the most loyal, faithful, brave, supportive and helpful, as well as a service husky named Banner.

She is quite a hero. This beautiful husky not only cares for her handicapped owner, Whitney Braley, she was also responsible for saving the lives of 7 newborn kittens , who had been abandoned to her fate in a box in the middle of the woods.

Banner could not pass by seeing that defenseless lives were in danger

Whitney knew something was off when her support dog got very nervous .

Banner began to throw her owner’s dress outside her home in Menlo, Georgia, and she allowed her pet to lead her, to find out what was bothering her so much.

Desperate, the husky alerted her owner to the box that had lives inside

Banner is trained to alert other people when her owner is having an anxiety attack or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and can even bring her medications.

“She alerts to PTSD episodes, anxiety attacks, migraines, urge extraction, medication recovery, self-harm interruption, and a few more,” her owner said.

The woman, who is the mother of 3 children, was surprised to see that Banner led her to a forest very close to the house. Whitney was stunned when she noticed her dog sprinting toward an abandoned cardboard box and beginning to circle around her in great distress.

She wanted to warn him with all her might that they had to do something to save them.

Whitney walked over to the box to see what was inside and as soon as he removed the lids, Banner flung his head inside, taking a newborn kitten into his mouth and carefully pulling it out.

His owner saw that in the background there were six more kittens.

When the cats were discovered, they looked very fragile and weak. They weren’t making any noise, so Whitney thought for a moment that they were dead . The box was hermetically closed, which suggests that the person responsible for this abandonment believed that it would not be discovered, and that the kittens could die without anyone noticing after a few days.

Banner’s owner made the decision to bring the little kittens home. From their appearance, she deduced that they were not more than a day old. Once safe, her dog behaved like a true mother : she cleaned the kittens carefully and did not leave her side for a single moment.

Banner’s attitude throughout the morning of the rescue had given Whitney clues that something was wrong. As a good support dog , the husky is submissive and obedient, but Banner had been behaving very strangely : she seemed anxious, worried and not paying attention to her owner’s commands.

“She wasn’t listening to me when I told her to come, and that’s not how she is, since she is always very well behaved. She knew something had to be wrong. She was really distraught. Banner always wanted to go to the nearby woods, and he finally started pulling on my dress.” Whitney explained.

Now the seven lucky kittens have all the care they need. Whitney is waiting for them to reach the appropriate age to be adopted , meanwhile, Banner has a lot of work to do, because he not only cares for and helps his owner with the same love and dedication as always, he also watches over her seven newborns, as if they were their own babies.

Banner not only assists his owner, he loves to help every human being and animal in need.

“We rescue a lot, and she is always attached to the kittens. Two years ago I had my first bottle fed kitten who was found in a ditch, and Banner raised her. That particular cat still lives with us, but over the years she has raised at least ten different litters of kittens. This is the first time she has encountered something like this.”
