A newborn elephant was impressively rescued after becoming trapped on his back in a shallow ditch.

When a baby elephant falls on its back, the chances of its life being at risk are very high , which is why some weeks ago some forest officials in India worked hard to allow a baby pachyderm to get up and move on.

The baby elephant fell into a very narrow ditch, where it was trapped. A bystander took it upon themselves to document the rescue. The poor animal had been fighting for his life for hours, waving its legs in an effort to get up, without success.

The villagers briefed the forest officials on what was happening, after hearing the wailing of the elephant. The pachyderm, who was completely alone, was stuck in the ground and without proper help his death was imminent .

The team of professionals was present in Haridwar, a district in western India where the events occurred. After seeing the situation that the animal was going through, they devised a plan to widen the ditch where it was stuck with the help of a backhoe, and make it possible for it to stand up.

The operation required great precision , since the frantic struggle of the animal and the proximity of the excavator blade could cause an accident. Little by little we can see how the ground is leveling out around the pachyderm and he, having enough space to turn around, manages to get out.

The little animal, which has earned the admiration of many on social networks for its perseverance, rose triumphantly after its tragedy and ran to join its herd, possibly exhausted from fighting for at least three hours for its salvation.

Komal Singh, one of the officials involved in the rescue, told the media that the baby pachyderm accident occurred as he and his herd were returning to the forest after hanging around a nearby farm.

The animal rushed into the ditch, while the rest of its peers, including its mother, continued on their way to take shelter, without straying too far from the calf, from where they remained alert .

Fortunately for this little boy, the people around him identified the problem early and sought the right help . This baby got quite a scare, but was able to get rid of this threat, without suffering injuries or other major consequences.

Share the story of this little fighter with your friends, and promote solidarity and empathy towards these noble animals, who, despite their size, are also in a worrying situation of vulnerability.
