The tender embrace shared by a mother whale and her young calf was captured on camera, and the resulting cute photos are sure to bring a tear or two to your eye.
The very enormous marine creatures seem as if they are embracing one another as the mother encourages her little one to take a breath by gently nudging it toward the surface.
At Vava’u, in the Kingdom of Tonga, Jasmine Carey, who is originally from the Gold Coast in Australia, successfully separated the calf, who is less than one week old, from its mother.

“The calf is гeѕtіnɡ on the mother’s rostrum and rubbing itself along it, which is very typical and would be a bonding behavior,” Carey said.
“The calf is also very curious yet shy about the onlookers making ѕtгonɡ eуe contact frequently.
“Both mother and calf are very comfortable and relaxed in the water with us watching their interaction.

She added, “They are so giving and will show you a part of their life that if you give them the respect they deserve as they truly acknowledge that you exist as much as they do.”
