A fried fish, also known as Tien king fish with a weight of nearly 30 kg and 1.2 m long, was caught by fishermen in Song Da and brought to Hanoi in 2022. Fried fish has the scientific name of Bagarius, lives in deep waters, with many rapids and rapids.
At the end of May 2018, a ” water monster ” belonging to the species of lentil fish with a body about 2 meters long and weighing nearly 100kg was caught in the fishermen’s net and brought to a restaurant in Hanoi. It is sold for up to 1 million VND/kg.

On July 2, 2018, a group of fishermen fishing on the Da River (the section flowing through Son La province) caught a giant milkfish weighing 22kg and more than 1m long.
On the morning of November 6, 2016, Mr. Lo Van Phanh (Dien Bien) caught a fried fish weighing about 28 kg and 1.5 meters long on the Da River in the area of Hang Tom bridge, Muong Lay town, Dien Bien province.
The “huge” fried fish head is as jagged as a piece of rotten wood, the whole body is smooth, and the colors are strangely patchy. Fried fish is considered a rare item used to reward kings and lords in ancient times.
On June 18, 2015, Mr. Kieu Huu Tho – restaurant owner in Hanoi bought a “huge” fried fish 1.5m long, weighing 40kg. This rare “sea monster” was caught by a resident on the Trung Ha bridge area (Ba Vi, Hanoi) – where the Red and Da rivers intersect.
