We know that every dog descends from a common ancestor: the wolf . These animals, of a wild nature, were domesticated for thousands of years to become a different species, what today everyone calls “man’s best friend”, the dog.

However, nowadays, no one could mistake a puppy for a wolf. For starters, the seconds are completely wild.

But, not in few occasions, for this species , domestication could be its only salvation. Either because they have been abandoned by their mother and could not survive on their own because they do not know how to defend themselves against predators, or because in their habitat, the presence of hunters could be their worst threat.

This is the drama faced by a sweet little wolf named Kira, who looks more like a dog

Kira was abandoned by her mother when she was just 3 days old. Something that shows us that nature can be very disconcerting, sometimes.

Fortunately for the baby, an angel appeared, a Russian woman named Alida , who fell in love with the puppy immediately. She decided to take her home to educate her like a dog, and save her like this because she would never survive without her mother.

Unlike dogs, wolves do not have years and years of domestication in their genes.

That is why for Alida, although she was always clear that it would not be an easy task, training her and turning her into her pet, was more than a challenge and a true test of perseverance and love.

The little wolf was always very shy and jealous of people and other animals

Kira’s past was really sad, her mother belonged to a family that didn’t take care of her. After being abandoned she was saved by a group of rescuers. And she under her care, she gave birth, but not being domesticated she didn’t trust her caretakers.

Kira and the rest of the litter that was born could not be released into their habitat because they did not know how to hunt.

That was how, 28 days old, Alida took her home and from that moment on, she decided to do everything to make her her pet and friend, and give her the second chance she so deserved.

The case of Kira’s adoption became a viral phenomenon, and was covered by all the local Russian media, since many viewed with bad eyes what would happen to the little animal in the future.

Especially since Alida has a small child, and many feared that the wolf would bring out her wild instincts by attacking the child in some “jealous rage.”

This video was pointed out by many, although Alida assures that there is nothing but love between Kira and her son Bogdan:

Kira currently accumulates almost 60,000 followers on her Instagram account @She.sawolf (She is a wolf). And certainly, her story of salvation and domestication of her, impresses more than one.

After many thought that Kira could be a threat to Bogdan, the mother proved otherwise.

Even she is the most protective of the little one. This is how Alina explained it in another video:

Despite how difficult it was for Alida to tame her, in the end all the efforts paid off.

It is beautiful to know that Kira has grown up very happy and protected in a home where she does not lack love.

However, there is no shortage of questions from those who tell him that the wolf is already an adult and should be sent to a reserve specialized in the breeding of this type of animal.

Alida assures that Kira is already a whole dog. She would never doubt that she will always behave as such and she is the best friend and protector she could have gotten for her child.

Remember that although this story has a sweet ending, it is never advisable to adopt wild animals as pets. There are people and specialized centers to guarantee their safety and that of humans.
