This 1956 Ford F-100 is said to be the last hot rod that the 81-year-old seller is going to build. While it’s not quite finished, many good parts and components have been used. As the seller says, “If you like going fast, you’ll love my truck!” Let’s see what it would take to finish this cool project.

A ’56 F-100 is a pretty neat truck in the first place. Obviously, this one isn’t stock, so if you’re looking for a restoration this isn’t your truck. On the other hand, this generation of Ford pickup may well have more custom than stock trucks left! The stance on this one is provided courtesy of Mustang II front suspension, which was fitted along with rack and pinion steering, power disc brakes, and traction bars (in the rear). The four cool-looking aluminum wheels are augmented with a pair of drag tires on steel wheels in case you want to try the truck out on the strip.

The bed of the truck has also been nicely done with wood that looks slightly aged. I’m guessing the round cap is for a fuel tank. The primer look can be left if that’s what you want, but the seller says he’s in ill health and that’s why it’s not painted yet. Personally, gloss black would look best to me, like Chip Foose’s truck.

The interior would look good with a black truck as well. It looks ready to go as is and has had some gauges added as well as that nice upholstery. Even the glass is new, including a vent window removal kit (ok, I’m old-fashioned, but why would someone remove perfectly good vent windows? I’m thinking about using GT6 vent windows to add them to my Spitfire).

There’s a 468-cubic-inch Chevrolet V-8 in this Ford, and it features Corvette heads, raised compression, a performance camshaft, roller rockers, and TRW pistons. That’s an 800 cfm Edelbrock carburetor on top. The F-100 is equipped with an automatic transmission and a Currie 9″ limited-slip rear end. How do you feel about finishing this hot rodder’s vision? Let us know in the comments after you’ve visited the ad here on eBay. Bidding is up to $26,000 but has yet to meet the reserve. The seller also has a 1948 Oldsmobile for sale that he purchased from Steve McQueen!
