Panama Canal. Island Princess (Video)

The Panama Canal is a unique and miraculous engineering work, located in Central America and connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. As an important route for global maritime traffic, the Panama Canal brings extremely important economic and geographical benefits to the world.

The Panama Canal operating process includes a series of complex steps and requires care and precision. First, specialized vessels of suitable size and weight arrive from both Atlantic and Pacific ports to the mouth of the canal. Here, the ship will continue to pass through shallow gates to enter the incredible canal gate system.

The process of passing through the Panama Canal begins with the water gate system, where ships will be adjusted in height to match the water level of each reservoir. This water gate system includes water tanks of different sizes, regulated through a system of doors and water metering lights. This helps maintain a stable water level and ensures safety for ships passing through.

Next, the ship will enter the canal’s reservoir system. The Panama Canal has three main reservoirs: Gatun Lake, Miraflores Lake, and Pedro Miguel Lake. These reservoirs are created by separating rivers with dams, creating a vast inland water network. Ships will move through these reservoirs through a system of water tanks and navigation gates.

During the process of passing through the canal, the ship will be guided and supported by crew members and technical staff on shore. They will ensure the safety and efficiency of the process, while monitoring shipboard activities and ensuring compliance with canal operating regulations.

Finally, after ships have completed their journey through the Panama Canal, they will continue on to their final destination at the port of destination. Through the operation of the Panama Canal, thousands of cargo and tourist ships have been successfully transported through this canal, making an important contribution to promoting international trade and connecting economies around the world.

The Panama Canal is an engineering marvel and a symbol of human progress. The process of operating this canal requires precision, patience and skill from those working on both ships and shore. Given the importance of the Panama Canal in the global maritime transportation system, maintaining and upgrading this operating procedure is an indispensable factor to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the canal.
