The canine who waited a month for his family to return in the destroyed home

The 2018 Camp Fire was by far the most destructive wildfire in the United States in the last century . Hundreds of families had to flee their homes and some others were unable to return to rescue their animals.

Unfortunately, this was what happened to a beautiful golden retriever puppy named Madison who was at home with her dog brother Miguel .

In the midst of the chaos, the human mother of the puppies named Andrea Gaylord could not do more than report them to the authorities as missing and always held out the hope of seeing them again.

As the days passed, rescuer Shayla Sullivan managed to catch Miguel and moved him to a safe place; however, Madison ran away from her every time she tried to get close to her, so she could only leave her food and water.

The rescuer tirelessly visited the disaster area in search of the puppy but was never successful , so she asked Gaylord for a piece of clothing to place over the remains of the property so that Madison could calm down with her scent until she returned.

After a long month, the Gaylord family was able to return to the place where their home used to be, which had been completely consumed by the fierce fire. However, on top of the ashes they could see a golden fur that gave them back the joy and strength they had lost. It was about the adorable Madison who was taking care of what was once her house From her.

“Madison was waiting for them there as if she was protecting her old house. I’m crying of happiness. He didn’t give up despite fire or storms! It was a very long month,” wrote the rescuer.

Gaylord couldn’t believe that poor Madison had managed to survive the catastrophe and he couldn’t help crying with happiness either .

“His loyalty made him endure the worst circumstances and he was there waiting. It was very emotional,” said the puppy’s mother.

The unexpected reunion brought happiness back to the Gaylord family and also made all those who have not seen their beloved animals since the incident regain hope.

“I am sure that as more people return to this place, their animals will know that they have returned. There are many more meetings ahead. Keep hope alive!” Said the noble rescuer at the time.

The flames of this great fire seemed indestructible but little by little they subsided, giving the inhabitants and rescuers a breather. The Camp Fire wildfire killed 84 people and destroyed Paradise, a Northern California city of 150,000.

Let’s hope that never again will innocent animals have to be separated from their families by disasters thus forcing them to live traumatic experiences. There is no wound that love cannot heal.

Share this emotional story with all your friends and never lose hope no matter what situation you find yourself in. Never give up!
