Where a scared possum traps itself is the best place to go for a safe walk.

Surely on more than one occasion you have thought that it is the little things that make the difference, something that the little animals make clear to us and an example of this are the adorable puppies, who with the sole intention of helping literally offer their bodies to provide security to the most vulnerable. Kato, is a beautiful puli dog, who without thinking became the temporary mother of a small possum .

Puli dogs are of medium height and hail from Hungary.

Sally and Jon Watkinson are from Melbourne, Australia and the human parents of cute Kato , to their surprise they found a baby possum in their pup’s abundant fur. The skittish little possum seemed to fully trust the puppy, who gave it the confidence to inhabit its long fur. You might think that dogs and possums don’t have the best relationship, but Kato and his little new friend got along very well.

The puli are characterized by their long fur that simulates laces or dreadlocks.

Sally Watkinson comments that it is surprising that Kato and her other dog Hugo, as soon as they noticed that the baby possum was attached by the tail, none of the dogs barked, especially Kato, who seemed receptive to the little visitor .

Sally and her husband decided to contact the wildlife rescuers , the opossum did not want to get out of the dog’s tail so they went with their pets to the vet, in this way they managed to get the small animal out, check it for the corresponding medical checkup and discard injuries.

The opossum is one of the oldest marsupials on the planet.

Fortunately, the little possum was in perfect health but as it was just a baby it needed some attention before being released into the wild, so it spent the night in the veterinary clinic before being transferred and spending some time at a wildlife keeper .

Watkinson comments that the opossum has not yet been weaned, despite its young age it managed to survive on its own with the help of the perfect puppy that provided protection when it needed it most.

These small mammals are unpredictable, nervous and active.

Although the opossum is safe, Watkison has asked local animal control to let them know if they see or know of any adult opossums, it could be the mother of the little one that inhabited their puppy and they might be able to reunite the family . Showing a little compassion, especially for a baby animal, can make all the difference.

Go ahead and share the note and motivate your friends to carry out small actions for the most vulnerable animals.
