A woman went into ʟᴀʙᴏʀ on her way to the ᴍᴀtᴇʀɴɪtʏ hospital in the US. Father ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅᴇᴅ the arrival of the ꜰᴏᴜʀ-ᴋɪʟᴏɢʀᴀᴍ baby, Josiah Benjamin.
It could be ꜰɪᴄtɪᴏɴ. But the adventure lived by the couple from Texas, USA, Lesia and John Pettijohn, is incredibly ʀᴇᴀʟ. The two had been on the road for ᴀᴘᴘʀᴏxɪᴍᴀtᴇʟʏ 45 minutes towards the ᴍᴀtᴇʀɴɪtʏ hospital in Pasadena, but the baby did not want to wait and was born inside the car.
The couple had no cell phone to call for help, and Lesia told John to keep driving while she went into ʟᴀʙᴏʀ: “I was probably ꜰʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ ᴏᴜt a lot more than I should have been. But I really didn’t want to have him in the car. I was sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ. I didn’t know if he was ʙʀᴇᴀtʜɪɴɢ properly or if he needed anything else,” she says. Lesia asked John to film her son’s birth. He captured the moment with a GoPro while driving.
In a few minutes, she had her son in her ʜᴀɴᴅs. He was ᴄʜʀɪstᴇɴᴇᴅ Josiah Benjamin. “The baby is coming,” cried Lesia as she saw the baby’s ʜᴇᴀᴅ and ᴘᴜʟʟᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀ ʙᴏᴅʏ ᴏᴜt. “He’s crying and ʙʀᴇᴀtʜɪɴɢ, honey, he’s fine,” replied her husband John, to ʀᴇᴀssᴜʀᴇ the woman, as he ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅᴇᴅ the scene from the driver’s seat.
Jon instructed Lesia to tᴜʀɴ tʜᴇ ʙᴀʙʏ ꜰᴀᴄᴇ ᴅᴏᴡɴ and ᴘᴀt ʜᴇʀ ʙᴀᴄᴋ – a stᴀɴᴅᴀʀᴅ ᴘᴏstᴘᴀʀtᴜᴍ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇᴅᴜʀᴇ. “Oh my God, we just had a baby in the car,” the emotional mother said in the video. “It’s a boy,” she added, ʜᴏʟᴅɪɴɢ him between her ʟᴇɢs.
The already famous baby, Josiah, was born healthy, weighing approximately 4.5 kg. The couple’s third child came into this world acting as a true ᴘʀᴏtᴀɢᴏɴɪst in the film that you watch here.
