Life for a pair of puppies and their mother changed completely after the non-profit humane society, Animal Charity of Ohio , received a call informing them that a family of puppies urgently needed help .

Since they were born, the puppies lived in deplorable conditions, they did not have confidence, much less did they know how to act in the presence of good humans.

The puppies were locked up for so long that they couldn’t stop hugging after their rescue.

The organization’s director of operations, Jane MacMurchy , went to the scene in the company of a humanitarian agent. Upon arrival they found a devastating scene, a mother and her two puppies were living in the worst circumstances that a furry can tolerate .

Their owners were far from understanding the responsibility of having a puppy at home, the canine family had learned to survive on their own, depending completely on each other . MacMurchy commented on it:

“They lived in terrible conditions. In his makeshift pen there was about half a meter of rubble. The puppies did not know how to socialize.

Fortunately, the owners did not hesitate to deliver the puppies named Peaches and Layla, who were about five months old . Next to them was their 7-year-old mother, Lady. The entire furry family was handed over to rescuers and taken to the shelter.

When carrying out a veterinary check-up, it was determined that the puppies were relatively healthy, however, they lacked confidence and did not know what to do if they did not have their mother nearby .

At the veterinary clinical center, the puppies were separated from their mother so that they could be checked up. Given this, they felt so vulnerable without their mother’s presence that Peaches and Layla hugged each other tenderly to comfort each other in the shelter .

Before the moving scene, MacMurchy commented on it:

“We were doing the vaccinations and the wellness check, and mom finished first. We were walking her to our intake area, and the cubs, not seeing her mother, clung to each other because they were so scared.”

For this small family there is a long way to adapt, although physically they do not have major injuries, emotionally they are very sensitive , so they will need a long job of education and training. But above all, to help them have confidence and not be so dependent on each other.

They have never been apart and for months they lived in a small cage, the whole outside world they are now a part of is completely new to them . Luckily, they have the support of expert staff who will help them become the best puppies for a family that loves them unconditionally.

“We give them time several times a day to just relax and get some TLC in a quiet room with a staff member so they can learn to trust. They do much better when their mother is around, so we work with all three of them together, as well as individually. It’s a slow process, but they are learning to be confident on their own.”

Thanks to the incredible work of her rescuers, Lady is already confident in herself, loves meeting new people and going for walks. Her two puppies are still learning, their socialization process will take a little longer but we are confident that they will succeed . In this regard, MacMurchy noted:

“Lady is a little love that constantly wags her tail, she is very happy to receive affection. The pups are not quite ready yet. They accept love and affection, they move and are happy when they are together, they support each other and trust each other. They are extremely dependent on each other.”

It’s only a matter of time before this pair of little brothers are ready to be given up for adoption . The shelter staff hopes to find them a family to take them home with them so they can continue to enjoy their hugs and all the love their new parents offer them.

There are many puppies with a painful past that need recovery time. They also deserve a second chance. Adopt them and transform their lives.
