Big or small, all snakes can be scary when you’re not sure how to handle them, but footage shared online showing an absolutely massive serpent takes things to a whole new level.

Remember the huge Basilisk in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with fangs bigger than a human hand? Well, bring that size snake into the real world and you’ve got what was seemingly caught on camera by an onlooker filming in a wooded area.

The footage was originally shared online last year, however it recently gained further attention on TikTok, where viewers could hardly believe their eyes. Of course, part of the reason for that is because the video was actually a prank.

In the clip, the person behind the camera appears to be pointing in fear and disbelief towards a white van that has been entirely taken over by a huge snake.

The audio on clips makes it seems as if a group of people in the background are talking in loud and seemingly panicked tones as the filmmaker walks the camera around the side of the van, showing the giant scales of the snake wrapped repeatedly around the vehicle with its tail trailing on the floor.

The video appears to have been posted with little context to explain what’s going on, but I’m sure you’ll be glad to know that the snake in the clip wasn’t real – if it was, I highly doubt anyone would risk hanging around to film it.

According to the Instagram page NatureLife_Ok, the scene was actually an art installation in a zoo, where giant eggs had been placed alongside the snake to create an even bigger picture.

This wasn’t clear to some people on TikTok though, so commenters made clear their concern at the notion that there were snakes as big as vans slithering through the woods.
